When a new task lands in your inbox, Aftertone looks at the title and content and suggests the most likely project. In most cases it gets it right without you doing anything.
How it works
Every time you add a task, Aftertone compares it against your existing projects and your past tagging history. It assigns the project it thinks is most likely and adds a small indicator on the task so you can see what it chose. If it is right, you do not need to do anything. If it is wrong, you can change it with one click.
Correcting a tag
Click the project label on any task in the inbox. A dropdown will show your full project list. Select the correct project. Aftertone learns from each correction and becomes more accurate over time.
When it gets things wrong most often
Auto Project Tagging is less reliable for tasks with very short or vague titles. A task called "Call" or "Review" does not give the AI much to work with. If you find it regularly misses a certain type of task, make the task titles more specific and add a more detailed description when you add them.
Turning it off for a project
If you have a project you always tag manually, you can exclude it from Auto Project Tagging in Settings, Projects. Select the project and toggle off Auto Tagging. Tasks will not be automatically assigned to that project but you can still select it manually.
Getting to accurate tagging faster
The more you add and correct in the first two weeks, the faster it calibrates. Most users find it reliable enough to leave alone after 10 to 14 days.
๐ Try it now โ Add three tasks and see what project Aftertone assigns to each. Correct any that are wrong. Each correction makes the next one more accurate.
