How to Cancel Sunsama

Written By The Aftertone Team

Why people leave Sunsama

Sunsama's daily planning ritual is the product. If the ritual works for you, it's genuinely good. If it doesn't -- if the guided flow feels like overhead, or $20/month for a tool with no AI feels like too much -- there's not a lot else to stay for. No auto-scheduling, no focus mode, and no data on whether your planning is producing real work.

Before you cancel Sunsama

A few things worth checking before you close the account:

Export your tasks and data. Most Sunsama data can be downloaded from Settings. Look for an Export or Backup option and save a CSV โ€” you'll want this before the account goes read-only.

Check your billing date. Cancelling stops the next charge, but you usually keep access until the current period ends. There's no need to rush the switch.

Note any integrations. If Sunsama is connected to Google Calendar, Slack, or other tools, those connections will stop working after cancellation. Reconnect them in your new app once you've switched.

How to cancel Sunsama

In Sunsama, click your avatar, go to Settings, then Billing. Click Cancel Plan. Access continues until your billing period ends.

What happens after you cancel Sunsama

Your Sunsama account stays active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. You won't lose access immediately. Use that window to export your data and get set up somewhere new before the account closes.

If you're on an annual plan and cancel partway through, check Sunsama's refund policy โ€” some apps will prorate the unused months, others won't.

What Aftertone does differently

Aftertone's AI weekly report does what Sunsama's ritual doesn't -- it tells you whether the time you protected produced real work, without you having to manually review it. Auto Plan suggests the schedule, you confirm it.

How to get your data out of Sunsama

Step 1. In Sunsama, click your avatar and go to Settings โ†’ Data.

Step 2. Select Export tasks. Sunsama generates a CSV of your tasks and daily intentions.

Step 3. The file includes task name, channel (project), scheduled date, and completion status.

Step 4. Paste your open tasks into Aftertone's Smart Capture โ€” completed tasks don't need to come across.

Sunsama pulls from Google Calendar or Outlook. Connect the same calendar to Aftertone and your meetings will appear immediately.
