How to Cancel Lunatask

Written By The Aftertone Team

Why people leave Lunatask

Lunatask is built around privacy and personal tracking -- encrypted tasks, habit logging, mood tracking. Users who leave want a work planning tool rather than a personal tracking system. No real time blocking, and the focus is on tracking rather than execution.

Before you cancel Lunatask

A few things worth checking before you close the account:

Export your tasks and data. Most Lunatask data can be downloaded from Settings. Look for an Export or Backup option and save a CSV โ€” you'll want this before the account goes read-only.

Check your billing date. Cancelling stops the next charge, but you usually keep access until the current period ends. There's no need to rush the switch.

Note any integrations. If Lunatask is connected to Google Calendar, Slack, or other tools, those connections will stop working after cancellation. Reconnect them in your new app once you've switched.

How to cancel Lunatask

In Lunatask, go to Settings, then Subscription, and cancel from there.

Go to Lunatask billing settings

What happens after you cancel Lunatask

Your Lunatask account stays active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. You won't lose access immediately. Use that window to export your data and get set up somewhere new before the account closes.

If you're on an annual plan and cancel partway through, check Lunatask's refund policy โ€” some apps will prorate the unused months, others won't.

What Aftertone does differently

Aftertone is built around execution. Tasks and calendar in one view, Auto Plan schedules your week, the Focus Screen runs the session, and the weekly report closes the loop.

How to get your data out of Lunatask

Step 1. In Lunatask, go to Settings โ†’ Export and download your tasks as CSV.

Step 2. The file includes task name, area, due date, and priority.

Step 3. Paste your open tasks into Aftertone's Smart Capture.

Lunatask's mood and habit tracking don't transfer. Aftertone's weekly report gives you time-on-task data as a replacement for self-reported mood tracking.

How to set up Aftertone
