How to Cancel Amie

Written By The Aftertone Team

Why people leave Amie

Amie combines calendar, tasks, and a social presence layer. Users who leave are usually the ones who find the social layer distracting rather than useful, and who want a planning tool focused on execution rather than social context.

Before you cancel Amie

A few things worth checking before you close the account:

Export your tasks and data. Most Amie data can be downloaded from Settings. Look for an Export or Backup option and save a CSV โ€” you'll want this before the account goes read-only.

Check your billing date. Cancelling stops the next charge, but you usually keep access until the current period ends. There's no need to rush the switch.

Note any integrations. If Amie is connected to Google Calendar, Slack, or other tools, those connections will stop working after cancellation. Reconnect them in your new app once you've switched.

How to cancel Amie

In Amie, go to Settings, then Billing, and cancel your subscription there.

What happens after you cancel Amie

Your Amie account stays active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. You won't lose access immediately. Use that window to export your data and get set up somewhere new before the account closes.

If you're on an annual plan and cancel partway through, check Amie's refund policy โ€” some apps will prorate the unused months, others won't.

What Aftertone does differently

Aftertone doesn't have a social layer. It has a Focus Screen, a weekly flow report, and Auto Plan. The goal is to do more real work.

How to get your data out of Amie

Step 1. Amie doesn't currently offer a bulk CSV export. Open your task list and note your open items.

Step 2. Copy tasks list by list and paste into Aftertone's Smart Capture โ€” it structures them automatically.

Amie syncs to Google Calendar. Connect the same Google account to Aftertone and your events pull in immediately.

How to set up Aftertone

2. Download Aftertone. Free 14-day trial at aftertone.io/get-started. No card required.

3. Connect Google Calendar. Your existing events pull in immediately. Your calendar and tasks are now in one view.

4. Plan your first week. Use Auto Plan to schedule your tasks. The weekly report will tell you at the end of the week whether it worked.
