1.6.6

A large workflow update. Task capture is faster, inbox planning is clearer, keyboard navigation is smoother, projects are easier to organise, slots now support linked tasks, and calendar behaviour is more flexible.

Several improvements added. You can now open Quick Add with double Command, move through tasks with J and K, undo key actions, import inbox items with AI, drag tasks into calendar slots, and control how inbox, project and calendar assignments behave.

Improvements

Quick Add now opens with double Command

You can now open the native macOS task bar by pressing Command twice. This replaces the previous Option Space shortcut and makes task capture feel faster and more native.

Recurring tasks and events are more flexible

You can now edit a recurring task or event for only the selected item, or for that item and all following ones. This mirrors the way Google Calendar handles recurring edits.

Undo support

Aftertone now includes an undo mechanism, giving you more confidence when making quick changes.

AI Import is now available in the inbox

You can now use AI Import from the inbox to turn messy notes, copied text or rough ideas into organised tasks.

Project inbox behaviour can be changed in Profile settings

A new Profile setting lets you choose whether tasks should be removed from the inbox when they are assigned to a project.

Kanban boards are slightly wider

Kanban boards now have more room, making project planning easier to scan and organise.

Tasks can now be linked to slots

You can now drag tasks into calendar slots to link them together. This is ideal for parallel work, grouped work or planning several related tasks inside the same time block.

Onboarding has been improved

The onboarding flow has been updated to make setup clearer and help new users get to value faster.

Adding tasks at the top of the inbox is better

Task addition at the top of the inbox is now smoother. You can use Tab to move between fields and choose which day you are planning to do the task.

Calendar assignment can now be set to no calendar

If Google Calendar is connected, you can now change a task, event or slot assignment to no calendar.

Default calendar assignment is now configurable

You can now choose whether new tasks, events and slots should be assigned to a default calendar when created.

Calendar drag and drop now works with filters

You can now drag and drop items on the calendar even when a filter is applied.

J and K keyboard navigation

You can now use J and K as down and up shortcuts, making it quicker to move through tasks without leaving the keyboard.
